Jozsef KUSZALIK is an entrepreneur, founder and head of Micro Mapper since 2001. He had tangents with the field of maps since childhood, when in his school years he became several times national champion in running orientation, a competition in which the athlete goes through the route orienting himself with only the map and compass. After graduating from high school with a specialization in computer science, he graduated from the College of Cartography and Land Cadastre, the Faculty of Geography and later the Master in Integrated Geographic Information Systems in Territorial Planning, all three of them from the Faculty of Geography in Cluj-Napoca – Babeș-Bolyai University. The connection with the university environment has kept it to this day.
During the two decades he coordinated teams, which nationally gathered geo-spatial data from the field and processed the data in the office using GIS. Thus, he developed with his team a unique GIS database, which contains all the streets, postal addresses, blocks, stairs, apartments and data about the urban population in Romania. This database of geo-referenced postal addresses was used by the largest international GPS navigation companies, telecommunications companies in Romania, modern retail companies for geomarketing analysis and planning, post, courier and taxi companies for the organization of their activity.
Micro Mapper was awarded the grand prize in the European Value Multipliers Gala 2012 in the innovation category, where she participated with the project "Accurate, current and complete spatial data".
Since 2018, Jozsef Kuszalik has also oriented his company's services to the public administration, offering them geo-spatial data, GIS software and solutions. As an entrepreneur, he always seeks to innovate and use efficient and affordable technical solutions that allow him a scalable development, offering services throughout the country.
